Oral sedation involves taking a pill before, and possibly during, the appointment. This pill, typically Halcion, is safe and predictable. After you take the pill, someone else drives you to your appointment where we deliver exceptional care in a comfortable, anxiety-free atmosphere. Patients are awake during the procedure but many have very little memory of the visit. Some patients may fall asleep during the procedure, but are generally easy to arouse.
Why would someone require sedation treatment?
Individuals who may be anxious or require extensive dental treatment may benefit from sedation treatment. Our doctors may recommend sedation if they believe it will help you feel more comfortable during your visit. If you are interested in learning more about the sedation options available, our friendly staff would be happy to discuss them with you in more detail.
Is sedation dentistry safe?
