Clear Aligners

Clear Aligners

Clear aligners are clear, plastic-like trays that are far less noticeable than traditional metal or ceramic braces. Clear aligners can be used to correct gaps, overbites, underbites or crowded teeth. Your dentist will give you trays and instructions on how to wear and change them. You’ll come back to see your dentist periodically to have your trays checked.

How do clear aligners work?

Your dentist will create a unique, digital treatment plan that maps out the exact movements of your teeth. From there, the clear aligners are created to conform to your teeth. They are designed to apply the right amount of pressure to gradually guide your teeth into place. Many patients like that clear aligners can be removed for short periods of time, such as to eat and drink, brush and floss, or attend special occasions. However, it is vital that clear aligners remain in the mouth as much as possible so they can do their job of straightening your teeth.

Who is a good candidate for clear aligners?

Anyone from children to older adults can wear clear aligners. However, they may not be appropriate for all orthodontic problems. Suitable candidates will not need extreme teeth movement or rotation and will have the discipline to keep their trays in for the recommended 20 to 22 hours each day.

What brand of clear aligners do you use?

We are pleased to provide SureSmile® Clear Aligners for our patients. SureSmile® Clear Aligners use advanced technology and proven materials to provide a customized, comfortable fit, promote better oral hygiene and deliver the exact tooth movements needed to achieve your ideal smile.
